Icy Shore

Can't wait till I can post nice warm-themed photos. Anyway, I guess I could be a little more creative and shoot something besides the outdoor scenery - pretty as it is, it is getting old. All my interests have kind of taken a backseat from feeling sorry for myself these days. But lately I can see the weather improving and I feel the worst of this winter is behind us. I hope I'm right.
Recently, my interest in paranormal investigating ("ghost hunting") returned with a vengeance. I can't say I didn't know it had faded, but I didn't realize just how much until it returned. There's just so much on my mind these days...
I definitely need a vacation very soon. lately it seems a lot of people I know are off to Florida...either there now or going soon. I wonder if I can stow away. lol.

"Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother forty whacks..."

"When she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one".
A group of us went on a tour of the Lizzie Borden House. It was very interesting.
Go here to see more photos on my facebook. Enjoy.

What is it? * * * * Updated March 28, 2010 * * * *

From the 3/1/2009 folder of the Fujifilm camera, although it was taken 2/28/2009. I posted this a year ago, never got any kind of response to it. To post it today I decided to desaturate it and that's when the swirling "contrail" showed up, which has me totally baffled as to what it could be if not something paranormal. More info on the photo at the link above.

Day*60

Update:
I was able to re-create this using the same camera in the same place. Using Night Snapshot or a similarly named setting on your digital camera... when you take the picture and the flash fires, it is NOT done taking the picture. In this setting, the camera fires a flash to light up your subject, such as your friend you are photographing, then it exposes a little longer to 'light up' the background. Usually after the flash, we lower the camera, as the picture has been taken. However, when we do that in night snapshot mode, any point of light now moves across the frame while the pic is still being taken. That's what caused this picture. Here are some of the ones I took purposely to recreate this effect:

Not paranormal after all, unfortunately.

New BG

I needed a temporary new background for the MA-RIPT.com website (click the title of this blog entry to go there) that was similar to the existing one (which I also made), so I made a new one. I like it, except the small text is a little hard to read. If it wasn't just temporary, I'd worry about it.

Matrixing/Pareidola

This is the heavy rain on the windshield of my truck...I was parked with the wipers off and we're looking at a tree in the parking lot. But look closely and you can see little faces in there. Woohoo.

OK I said 7/2 would be better...I guess not. lol. Stay tuned for 7/3

They're heee-e-e-re!

...and "don't go toward the light" and all that cliche stuff. This is a shot of Mike and Chloe who were dancing at Chloe's Dad's wedding reception. The camera's auto settings were still set for inside, when I took this near the open door.
More of the reception here (if it allows you to see it).

P.S. Just HAD to post this video Mike and I took (and I edited) from the reception.

April 2 - Day 92

Inside a building our team investigates. I just like the way this photo came out.

Grasping at straws 3/7

It's not been a very productive time for photos to be honest...you've probably noticed I'm struggling to get caught up. This is a headlight I bought before I bought a much better one. I was experimenting again with product photos.

I dunno - another one from 2/28

What d'ya think? Anyone? Deb? This is the gym where I work, before the lights came on (the ones behind me were warming up, the ones in front (in the camera view) are not turned on yet), the light area is the doorway to the main lobby and the red above that is the exit sign. one third of the doorway is "double exposure" - the door is stretched a bit wider than it really is and there is really only one exit sign. The rest, I can't explain.

Goodies - 222

I was trying to get my stuff organized and decided to arrange it and take a pic. I sure do have a lot of flashlights. There's 4 or more (big ones) that aren't shown here too.
Anyway, now it's all in one place but still not organized. I'll get there.

Valentine's Day (*yuck*) - Birthday Celebration - 2/14

Sally (Allyson's sister), visiting from Alabama, asked me to attend the birthday celebration of her niece with her (She was killed along with her boyfriend, in a car accident. She would have been 19). It was very nice and we had a nice time.
Sally's son was very tired so I gave them a ride back to the house they were staying at. He perked up a little when I mentioned the town hall, as we were driving by it, has been investigated by paranormal investigators. He woke up completely when I told him that I'm a paranormal investigator too.
At the party, each table had a different photo of Keri on it. This is a picture of the display at our table.

The Ghost in the chair - 2-2-2009

Do you see the ghost sitting in this chair? Yeah, me neither. But that could be because it's invisible. Hmmmm.
I've been taking pictures with my 35mm camera lately and few to none per day with the digitals. I'll try to do better. When I finally get the film developed I'll have some pics to fill the gaps hopefully.

Missing Horse - January 13

The part of January 13 will be played by a photo from Jan 10

The Freetown/Fall River State Forest is one of the corners of the Bridgewater Triangle. If you're not familiar with that, the BT is an area defined many years ago that is known for a higher than normal occurence of reports of paranormal actiivity. Not just ghosts but anything paranormal - UFO, cryptozoological, hauntings, cult activity (not exactly paranormal but may be a contributor)...you name it. So of course, that's what drew me to it. My friend who is "sensitive" says she feels sick when she drives by it.
It looks like a nice place and I think I might camp there sometime. Not much to see right now of course, in the middle of January, but this poster caught my attention. It was posted in May and maybe the horse was found and they just didn't take the sign down. If that's not the case...well, how sad is that. Poor horse, and poor owners. It said the horse was spooked, but I wonder by what.
Before I left I was sitting in my car checking the road map and a ramp truck went by heading out of the park, with a PU truck on the back. The top middle of the truck's windshield was smashed...wondered what happened there. Maybe it's not such a nice place. lol
