Church At The Green

So often, I drive by here and want to take a picture of the church. There are utility wires cutting across it so I always figured I'd wait and work out the best angle, etc. This time with the sun shining on it just right, I couldn't pass it up. I took the picture while sitting at a stop sign. Traffic approaching from behind, I had only a couple seconds to get the shot.
I used Gimp to remove the wires, and PhotoImpression to make other adjustments.

Then to the canal

The terns stole the show. It was a challenge to get good pictures of them. But I did take a lot of pictures. There were a lot of boats and people fishing, walking, some with dogs, biking, roller blading, etc.

This is the back of a shed at a home by the canal. I thought it was a nice display.

Then back to Plymouth

...for the fireworks. I have to admit they were probably better than I originally told people, after seeing my video (see very bottom of this post). It was my first time seeing them in Plymouth.

I think I was more preoccupied with trying to get good photos of them, which I didn't do so well.

The whole atmosphere was great though, as well as hanging with friends.

Traffic was absolutely horrible afterwards, so we walked around by the waterfront for awhile.

Police boats (Harbor Masters) standing by while the many boats were taken out of the water and loaded up on their trailers.

There were a few bands playing in the few bars around. Local bands I assume but sounded great and added to the whole atmosphere.

After enduring the traffic, we finally got home at about midnight.

A different vantage point of Oliver Mill - 2/19

Sometimes - ok, fairly often - I don't see the obvious. From this angle I can see the building. I always knew the seemingly random stone walls were remnants of a building. I just never saw the actual shape before, even though it was right in my face the whole time.
OK in my defense, the area I was in when I took this is a part of the park I rarely go into so maybe that's why I never saw it.
