A weed...

At - you know - my favorite hangout apparently. I was trying to get a shot with the rapidly flowing water behind it blurred and the flower sharp but couldn't...probably with a tripod I could have done it.

Elephant Ear

...in the bigger pond. This and a Canna are the newest additions to the water garden.
The small pond is being phased out I think. It was down to two fish, so I moved them to the big pond. I'm sure they are MUCH happier now. I then kept the small pond temporarily because I have no room in the big one for the water lily that's there. I have some work to do, thinning plants, etc.
When I have the time and money, I hope to make a new, even bigger pond to replace both of the current ones.

Then to the canal

The terns stole the show. It was a challenge to get good pictures of them. But I did take a lot of pictures. There were a lot of boats and people fishing, walking, some with dogs, biking, roller blading, etc.

This is the back of a shed at a home by the canal. I thought it was a nice display.

Then back to Plymouth

...for the fireworks. I have to admit they were probably better than I originally told people, after seeing my video (see very bottom of this post). It was my first time seeing them in Plymouth.

I think I was more preoccupied with trying to get good photos of them, which I didn't do so well.

The whole atmosphere was great though, as well as hanging with friends.

Traffic was absolutely horrible afterwards, so we walked around by the waterfront for awhile.

Police boats (Harbor Masters) standing by while the many boats were taken out of the water and loaded up on their trailers.

There were a few bands playing in the few bars around. Local bands I assume but sounded great and added to the whole atmosphere.

After enduring the traffic, we finally got home at about midnight.

A trip to Plymouth

My 3 sons were staying with me for a week and one of the things we did was act like tourists in Plymouth. We walked around some, then had dinner at Lobster Hut, ice cream at pebbles, and headed home. There were threatening clouds when we first got there but we thought maybe if we ignored them they'd go away...they did.

Matrixing/Pareidola

This is the heavy rain on the windshield of my truck...I was parked with the wipers off and we're looking at a tree in the parking lot. But look closely and you can see little faces in there. Woohoo.

OK I said 7/2 would be better...I guess not. lol. Stay tuned for 7/3
