Late Sunflowers

This whiteboard was basically unusable for a couple years because someone drew on it with permanent marker, so I decided we had nothing to lose and took a chance with a strong graffiti remover and some serious elbow grease...got it pretty decent and at least usable. The next day this message was written on it. Awww. It's nice to be appreciated. I hope it can be erased. lol

Tomatoes

The tomatoes in the garden this year took a fatal turn for the worst, as what i believe was a blight (early AND late from what I've read) caused them to all rot on the vine. In some cases the plants themselves died earlier this summer. I thought it was only because of poor soil, as it's a new garden and some parts of the garden had huge trees growing the previous year.
Better luck next summer (I hope).

It does me no good to post such a poor quality photo, but alas, I am in another lull. So I will explain this one in hopes of making it more interesting:
I was in a window, probably 50 feet away and it was windy. I noticed the windmill was spinning like crazy so I wanted to use a slow shutter speed to blur the motion. Well, even though it was overcast I couldn't get slow enough shutter speed for the desired effect, but slow enough to make a crappy picture. Also, a tree branch between me and the subject threw off the focus I think.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

So why did I post it. Because it's the best one I took on 9/25 *pats self on back*

No it's not the same picture from the other day...same plant though...better picture I think.

11:09 PM ~ ISO 800, f2.71, shutter speed 2 sec., post: straightened, resized and sharpened (always sharpen after resizing)

Same picture, enhanced...increased color saturation, brightness, contrast, straightened, resized, unsharp mask and sharpened. and possibly some other stuff I don't remember doing, as I saw fit.

Sage

The sage this season was a little slow starting and I wondered if it was going to make it, but it seems to have done ok. I don't think it flowered though. I'll probably cut it way back after frost.

262

Saw this sign on the way to an investigation tonight. Don't know why it struck me funny.
