Gulls

On the way to the canal I stopped for a few minutes in Onset. I didn't even get out of the truck but took a few mediocre pictures out the windows.

Sparrow in the snow

Stopped at the canal by the railroad bridge this week for the first time in a long time. They had the area closed down for most or all of the summer to redo the parking lot. I can't wait to start going there again. This time was just a short visit because I didn't have much time, plus it was soooooo much colder near the water.

Brrrrr...oh well.

I don't care anymore. Let it snow let it snow let it snow...let me freeze. The good news though, is that when I finally get used to it, the weather will finally warm up and try to spoil me again. Keeping my fingers crossed, as the next snow is predicted for tomorrow.

Woods After a Snowstorm

Taken at ISO 400, with my 50mm f1.8 lens and post processed. I know, I have posted similar shots before. I keep trying to get it right. Each time I post it I think this is the one, but soon after, when I look at it, I feel it still isn't quite what I've been trying for. So obviously I think I've got it now, but in a few days I might feel differently.
This time I've got plenty of patches of sunshine which I think really livens it up. After working on the brightness, contrast, etc., I thought it was fine, but already there was something wrong. So before posting it now, I "warmed it up" (bad choice of words considering the subject?) and I think that was just what it needed.

None Shall Pass

Monday, on my way home from bringing two of my sons home, the road I was traveling on got blocked when a camper in someone's yard burned. A man was brought to the hospital. Not sure how he is now.
I had driven by there 30 - 40 minutes before that. It is four houses down from a home that was destroyed by fire just before Christmas.
I couldn't get any closer at the time, but could see it the following day. The camper is completely destroyed. Maybe I'll get brave and stop for a photo one of these days.

UPDATE: East Bridgewater man in good condition after camper fire - Brockton, MA - The Enterprise
Photo from the news article, taken and submitted by a neighbor.

"Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother forty whacks..."

"When she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one".
A group of us went on a tour of the Lizzie Borden House. It was very interesting.
Go here to see more photos on my facebook. Enjoy.

Oliver Mill Park

My first OMP post of the year.

Snow!

From a previous snowstorm, not the more recent one. I knew we were going to get a lot of snow this winter and it's looking like I might be right...unfortunately.

Amazon Associates

Trying out the Amazon Associates program. Check out the books page I've recently added. I will be adding other items and more books eventually.

Wayno

I am just SO handsome, it's unbelievable! This is a photo my friend Debbie took with my camera while on one of our walks. I was climbing over a fallen tree at the time.
Debbie is below, climbing over the fallen tree as well....oh ok, we were both posing on the fallen tree.
