The picture I post next will be the first one taken specifically for this project.
This is another one of Jezebel. She sure does love her toys. She seemed sad when I took this but the pizza a little later (she gets "crusties") snapped her out of it.

On Frozen Pond - January 16
Yes the goldfish are ok. And surprisingly YES, the waterfall IS still running. Usually I unhook the hose that pumps water to the filter/waterfall for the winter but I wanted to try it this way this year. All I've done is worry about it since, so next winter I might go back to bypassing the filter/waterfall...we'll see. So far so good...just have to watch it more closely.

Missing Horse - January 13
The part of January 13 will be played by a photo from Jan 10
The Freetown/Fall River State Forest is one of the corners of the Bridgewater Triangle. If you're not familiar with that, the BT is an area defined many years ago that is known for a higher than normal occurence of reports of paranormal actiivity. Not just ghosts but anything paranormal - UFO, cryptozoological, hauntings, cult activity (not exactly paranormal but may be a contributor)...you name it. So of course, that's what drew me to it. My friend who is "sensitive" says she feels sick when she drives by it.
It looks like a nice place and I think I might camp there sometime. Not much to see right now of course, in the middle of January, but this poster caught my attention. It was posted in May and maybe the horse was found and they just didn't take the sign down. If that's not the case...well, how sad is that. Poor horse, and poor owners. It said the horse was spooked, but I wonder by what.
Before I left I was sitting in my car checking the road map and a ramp truck went by heading out of the park, with a PU truck on the back. The top middle of the truck's windshield was smashed...wondered what happened there. Maybe it's not such a nice place. lol

Roadside Memorials - January 12
While I've often thought of doing a series of roadside memorial photos as a project, that is not what this is about.
In August my friend flew up here from Florida to attend the services for her niece, who was killed with her boyfriend in a car accident on route 495.
I went with her to the funeral and wow what a very popular and much loved young lady she was. There were many tears flowing of course, and it was hard for me to hold them back myself, being slightly empathic (I think, but even if not, it was a highly emotional time). So the whole event became a part of me as if she had been one of my own relatives. I felt so sorry for her family and friends. She was only 18.
My friend told me that in this same spot there have been other fatal accidents. I have heard that too. I couldn't find info on any other accidents though, and the scene is on a straightaway so it seems odd.
But then I noticed a second set of crosses so after trying to see the names on them all each time I drove by, which is a few times a month, the traffic on this day was light enough to stop for a couple quick pictures without becoming the reason for a fifth cross.
It turns out both sets of crosses are for her niece and niece's boyfriend.
